Sales Tactics

Mastering Outbound Sales

Inbound leads (people typing in your domain) are the easiest sales. But Outbound sales build empires. If you hold a domain that is perfect for a specific company, sitting on your hands is costing you money. But how do you tell them without being annoying?

The "Value-Add" Email

Do not just say "I have this domain, buy it." That's spam. Instead, frame it as a strategic upgrade. Solve a problem they might not know they have.

The CEO Template

Subject: Upgrade for [Company Name]?

Hi [Name],

I noticed you're doing great work at [Company] (using GetCompany.com).

I own the exact match Company.com. I'm looking to sell it and wanted to give you first right of refusal before I list it publicly.

Usually, dropping the "Get" increases email trust and click-through rates by 30%. Are you the right person to discuss this with?

Best,
[Your Name]

Compliance is Key

Outbound sales is legal, but you must respect CAN-SPAM (USA) and GDPR (Europe).
B2B Only: Only contact business emails, not personal Gmails.
Legitimate Interest: You must have a reason to believe they need your product.
Unsubscribe: Always include an opt-out link.
Professionalism: Use a real email signature/address. This separates you from ransom-seeking cyber-squatters.

Who to Contact?

Don't email "info@". The gatekeeper will delete it.
Less than 50 employees: Email the CEO/Founder. They care about the brand.
50-200 employees: Email the VP of Marketing or CMO.
200+ employees: Hard to reach. Contact the General Counsel or Brand Manager.
